SK's Vain Pink Lady

So Sad. So Glad

This poor little lady had seen better days, heck she had seen better centuries. I was really hopeful we could save her.

All the veneer had to be removed.

The drawers would not budge, so they had to be removed piece by piece and rebuilt.

My wonderful client was excited to use a combination of coral, navy and cream. She also loves chevrons. Very eclectic taste. And such fun... So this is what she wished for and this is what she received.
Each drawer exterior is covered with a beautiful pattern paper.

I use custom colored chalk paint. I have found this recipe works great on just about any surface. And I love the texture.

1 Part Chalk
2 Parts Flat Latex Paint
Mix till no lumps and keep stirring occasionally while painting.
2 TBSP water.
The raised stencil was created with a stencil and Modern Masters Sculpturing putty.

The beautiful glass clock faced knobs were a real find at Hobby Lobby. The color couldn't have been more perfect.

When the painting was complete, I sanded her back and washed her with a white lime wash. After she dried I waxed with a clear paste wax and buffed for an old world shine.
This pretty Pink Lady will be loved and cherished for a new century.
Thanks Heidi of Pine Lodge Labradoodles for the challenge.
