Old Pine To Metal
I'm still having fun with experimental paint finishes. This is about my most favorite so far. I keep looking around my house to see what else I can refinish. My concrete countered island is next.
I was given this great old bench by a garage saler in my area, knowing I wouldn't leave it as it was.

I sanded the entire bench lightly and made sure it was clean. I painted the body, back and legs a deep cranberry red. I left the seat the old pine.

I have to remember to take the tape off before the texture is dry. Then when the texture is dry I sand the hard edges off. I am using Modern Masters Metal Effects Paint. Copper and Iron.
When the paint is dry I recoat in selected areas and mist with the reactive solution. It starts to patina right before my eyes. I will spray this piece with an outdoor spar varnish. This will keep the paint finish solid even in weather.
I now have a great looking rod iron bench. Or so it seems.
